Overview

Cyclodextrins have been recognized as powerful candidates to overcome some drawbacks of drug molecules, such as low hydro solubility, stability and bioavailability through the formation of host–guest complexes in which, each guest molecule is enclosed in the hydrophobic cavity of Beta-Cyclo Dextrin.

Hydrophobicity and low bioavailability of Oxyresveratrol, could be a handicap for its use in pharmacology.

Inclusion with cyclodextrins is a suitable choice to solve the problems met in the administration of poorly water-soluble drugs . Moreover, the use of Oxyresveratrol-CD complex could slow down the rapid metabolism and elimination of Oxyresveratrol , improving its bioavailability, as it has been demonstrated for other guests/CDs complexes
